Nyth privacy policy

What the game collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated 30 September 2026.

Nyth is a bird puzzle game for iPhone and Android, published by DM Universal Ltd (trading as Pomo Games), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13718308, registered office 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE. In this policy, "we" and "us" means DM Universal Ltd.

We are the data controller for the personal data described here, except where we say another company is. If you have a question, or want to use any of your rights, email [email protected].

1. The short version

  • Your game (levels, seeds, streak, garden, journal, settings) is saved on your phone, not on our servers.
  • We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools, and we do not sell your data.
  • Nyth shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some data about your device to show and measure ads. You choose whether the ads can be personalised, and you can change your mind in Settings > Ad privacy choices.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details.
  • A Pomo account is optional. If you make one, it stores your email address and Pomo name.

2. What stays on your phone

Nyth saves your progress, seeds, streak, Reserve garden, Journal, sound settings, which purchases you own, and a short diagnostics log on your device. None of this is sent to us. The diagnostics log is only ever shown to you, in Settings, so you can copy it to us yourself if you report a problem.

If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. Settings > Reset all progress also clears it.

3. Ads (Google AdMob)

Nyth is free because it shows ads: a small banner on some screens, an occasional full-screen ad after a win, and optional videos you can choose to watch for a reward. We use the Google Mobile Ads SDK, provided by Google. For users in the UK and Europe the provider is Google Ireland Limited.

When. Nyth does not start the ad software, and no ad data is collected, until you have won level 10 and it is not the day you installed the game.

What Google collects. When ads are shown, Google's software may collect:

  • your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone only if you allow it; see below; on Android the advertising ID and app set ID),
  • your IP address, which can show your rough location (for example the town or region), not your exact location,
  • information about your device and the app (model, operating system, language, app version),
  • which ads you were shown, and whether you tapped or watched them,
  • crash and performance information about the ad software.

Google uses this to show ads, measure them, prevent fraud and improve its services. Google explains this at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and policies.google.com/privacy.

Your choices.

  • In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks whether ads may be personalised before any ad is shown.
  • On iPhone, we show a short note and then Apple asks whether Nyth may use your advertising identifier ("Allow Nyth to track your activity?"). If you say no, the identifier is not shared.
  • If you say no to either, you get non-personalised ads. These still use some data (for example your IP address for rough location, and to count and protect against fraud), but not your advertising identifier or ad history for targeting. Saying no never costs you anything: every video and every reward stays the same.
  • You can change your answer at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices. On iPhone you can also go to the phone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the phone's settings.
  • All ads in Nyth are limited to Google's "G" (general audiences) rating.

Remove Ads. If you buy Remove Ads, banners and full-screen ads stop. Optional reward videos stay available if you want them, so Google's software may still run when you choose to watch one.

4. Purchases

In-app purchases (seed packs, Reveal packs, Remove Ads and the Warden's welcome) are made through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). They process your payment under their own privacy policies. We never receive your name, card or bank details. Your phone tells Nyth which product you bought so it can give it to you; that record stays on your phone. We do not run a server that stores your purchases.

5. Pomo account (optional)

You can play all of Nyth without an account. If you choose to create or log in to a Pomo account in Settings, we (Pomo Games) process:

  • your email address, to log you in and to send you a 6-digit code and password-reset emails,
  • your password, which is stored only in hashed form by Google Firebase Authentication; we cannot see it,
  • your Pomo name, which you choose. It is permanent while the account exists. Nyth only shows it to you. In other Pomo games, such as Koball, it may be shown publicly on leaderboards,
  • which Pomo games you have linked to the account, and when (this is how Nyth gives you the Koball ball in your garden),
  • a login token, kept in your phone's secure keychain, so you stay logged in.

Account records are stored by Google Cloud (Firebase) in the European Union (Belgium and the Netherlands). Sign-in may also be processed by Google in the United States. Account emails are sent from our mail server in the UK. More detail is in the Pomo Games privacy policy.

Pomo accounts are for players aged 13 and over.

Deleting your account. In Nyth, go to Settings > Pomo account > Delete account. This permanently deletes the account, frees the Pomo name and removes any Pomo leaderboard entries. You can also ask us by email at [email protected]. See delete your account.

6. Saving progress to your Pomo account

Today Nyth does not save your progress to our servers.

7. Why we are allowed to use your data (UK GDPR)

  • Personalised ads and your advertising identifier: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time as described in section 3.
  • Non-personalised ads (which keep the game free), fraud prevention and keeping the ad software working: our legitimate interests.
  • Pomo account and purchases: to provide the service you asked for (contract).
  • Anything the law requires us to keep: legal obligation.

8. Sharing and transfers

We do not sell your personal data. It is shared only with the companies named above (Google for ads and for Firebase, Apple and Google for purchases), who process it under their own terms. Some of them process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, they rely on legal safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK-US "data bridge".

9. Children

Nyth is made for a general audience and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Pomo accounts are only for players aged 13 and over. Ads in Nyth are limited to Google's general-audience rating, and are not personalised unless consent is given. If you believe a child under 13 has created a Pomo account, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

10. How long we keep data

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to move it to another service. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

Most of Nyth's data never reaches us, so for game progress the simplest route is to reset progress in Settings or delete the app. For ad data, Google provides its own tools at myadcenter.google.com.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (0303 123 1113).

12. Security

Data sent by Nyth (to Google and to Pomo's servers) is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Your Pomo login token is stored in your phone's secure keychain.

13. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and if the change is important (for example, if we start saving progress to our servers) we will tell you in the app.
