Build a harbour town. Look after the people who call it home.

About Tidewell
Tidewell is a cosy seaside town-management game about becoming mayor of a ramshackle cove and helping it grow into somewhere people are proud to call home.
You build along the shoreline, welcome villagers with their own names and routines, and make the small decisions that shape daily life. The tide comes and goes, weather rolls across the harbour, seasons change and the village keeps moving whether you are rearranging a jetty or watching a gull steal the scene.
A living little cove
The heart of the game is the relationship between the place and the people living in it. Villagers follow schedules, bring petitions to the mayor and react to how the town is run. Taxes, happiness and population all matter, but Tidewell is designed to feel like looking after a community rather than balancing a spreadsheet.
Buildings can be placed and customised, while a postcard mode lets you stop and enjoy the village you have made. There are cats to meet, festivals to prepare for and plenty of quiet harbour moments between the bigger decisions.
In development
I am currently concentrating on making the opening twenty minutes feel clear, warm and genuinely fun: arriving in the cove, placing the first buildings, meeting its residents and understanding what kind of mayor you want to be. Once that foundation is right, I will build outward from it rather than piling on systems before the core loop has earned them.
Already in
- Build and customise a harbour village
- Villagers with names, routines and needs
- Happiness, tax and population systems
- Changing seasons, weather and tides
- Festivals, cats and visiting gulls
- Save/load and postcard mode
Working on next
- Refine the opening twenty minutes through playtesting
- Polish the starting cove, tutorials and early choices
- Grow the village content once the core loop feels right
- Explore fishing and expeditions after the foundation is solid
